Q1.         What does nursing means and how does Islam regard it?

Ans.      Nursing means looking after the sick, the injured, the young and old with love and sympathy. Islam regards nursing as very important. Our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) visited the sick regularly, comforted him and spoken.

Q2.         Where did Holy Prophet ( P.B.U.H) established the hospital and why?

Ans.      The Holy Prophet ( P.B.U.H) established the hospital in Madina to looking after the suffering patients.

Q3.         What did the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) do for the sick?

Ans.      Islam regards nursing as very important. Our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) visited the sick regularly, comforted them and spoke kin words to them. He would go, even to inquire after his ailing enemies. He urged the Muslims to help those who were sick or suffering.

Q4.         Who helped Hazrat Rufaida in looking after the patients in the hospital?

Ans.      Hazrat Fatima, the youngest and dearest daughter of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) helped Hazrat Rufaida in looking after and nursing the patients in the hospital in Medina. Hazrat Asma, the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr (M.A.B.P.W.H) ALSO ASSISTED Hazrat Rufaida in the hospital.

Ans.      Islam regards nursing very important. Muslim ladies helped the sick and wounded in the battlefields. Hazrat Ghifaria, who accompanied the Holy Prophet in the battle of Khyber, was a very good nurse. When our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) established a hospital in Medina, he made Hazrat Rufaida in charge of it. She was very competent nurse.

Q6.         Who was Florence Nightingale and what was her aim of life?

Ans.      Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing. She was one of the greatest lady in the history of nursing and her aim in life to serve suffering humanity.

Q7.         Who was Hazrat Ghafaria and did the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) offered him a necklace?

Ans.      Hazrat Ghafaria was a very good nurse. She accompanied the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) in the battle of Khyber. When the battle was won, the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) presented a necklace to her.

Q8.         What was the role of Florence Nightingale in the ceramic war and what did she do with the money which was offered by British Governments?

Ans.      She played a great role in the ceramic war. The nation thankfully offered her a purse of 45,000 due to her service. She founded an institution for training nursing in London with this money.
